Safety & Assistance
Calling 911 • If you have a 911 emergency from your condo/room, if possible please use the condo/room phone instead of your cell phone. The 911 dispatcher can find your location by using the condo/room phone. The 911 address for your condo/room is located on the inside (back) of your condo/room door.
Fire Alarms
Immediately evacuate the building and do not return until notified by emergency personal or security. Follow exit signs: Use the stairs, do not use elevators which may be disabled or take you to the fire. Move away from the building: Once outside, move to a safe location and wait for instructions from emergency personal or security. Some condos are equipped with fire pull stations, if you see or smell smoke or a fire pull the nearest fire alarm.
Condo Jacuzzis
Important safety instructions for condo whirlpool baths.
These instructions pertain to risks of fire, electric shock or injury to persons. Warning: These precautions should always be followed before operating your condo whirlpool bath. Failure to follow these instructions could result in personal injury, electrical shock or fire. Read and follow all instructions carefully.
Danger: To reduce the risk of injury:
- Do not permit children to use the whirlpool bath unless they are closely supervised at all times.
- Use the whirlpool bath only for its intended use. Do not use attachments.
- The water in a whirlpool should never exceed 40°C (104°F). Water temperatures between 38°C (100°F) and 40°C (104°F) are considered safe for a healthy adult.
- Duration of use time should be limited to approximately 30 minutes, followed by a shower to cool down. Longer exposures may result in hyperthermia. The symptoms of this condition are nausea, dizziness and fainting, and it can be fatal.
- Lower water temperatures are recommended for young children and for extended use (exceeding 10 – 15 minutes).
- Pregnant or possibly pregnant women should limit whirlpool water temperatures to 38°C (100°F). Excessive water temperatures have a high potential for causing fetal damage during the early months of pregnancy.
- The use of drugs or alcoholic beverages before or during whirlpool use may lead to unconsciousness with the possibility of drowning. Never use the whirlpool bath while under the influence of alcohol, anti-coagulants, stimulants, antihistamines, vasoconstrictors, vasodilators, hypnotics, narcotics, or tranquilizers.
- Persons with a medical history of heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory system problems, or diabetes should consult a physician before using a whirlpool.
- Persons using medication should consult a physician before using a whirlpool bath since some medication may induce drowsiness while other medication may affect heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation.
Danger: To reduce the risk of injury, enter and exit the bath slowly.
Warning: Never operate electrically connected devices in or near the bath. Never drop or insert any object into any opening. The bath should be drained after each use. Each bather should start their bath with fresh water. Do not use oil based additives in your whirlpool bath. Never run whirlpool bath dry. Do not operate this whirlpool bath unless the suction cover is attached over the suction inlet fitting and the jet assemblies are installed. There should be at least 2 inches of water above the highest jet location during whirlpool bath operation.
Caution: Do not use harsh abrasives or solvents for cleaning this whirlpool bath.
Fireplaces
Wood Fireplaces • Before using your condo’s wood fireplace, please read these instructions:
- A canvas bag is provided for carrying logs into the condo.
- During winter months, logs (stacked in small piles) are available in boxes a short distance from the condos.
- Do not leave fire unattended at any time.
- Do not clean fireplace yourself. Fireplaces will be cleaned by Housekeeping staff on check-out day.
- Guests are responsible for any and all fire damage that may occur in their condo during their stay.
- Starter logs may be purchased at The General Store. Wood boxes for wood fireplaces will be opened on the weekend after Labor Day and closed the weekend after Mother’s Day.
Gas Fireplaces • Please carefully read the following instructions before using your condos gas fireplace:
- Do not attempt to light with matches.
- Read instructions on inside panel of the fireplace before lighting.
- Turn it off when unattended.
- Do not operate the fireplace overnight while sleep.
- If fire is accidently extinguished, please call Maintenance at extension 55045 or 540.289.4943.
- Surface may become hot to touch, including glass and metal surfaces.
Electric Fireplaces • Please carefully read the following instructions before using your condos gas fireplace:
- Turn it off when unattended.
- Do not block vents where warm air comes out, keep free of debris and furniture.
- Surface may become hot to touch, including glass and metal surfaces.
- Do not operate the fireplace overnight while sleep.

Fire Extinguishers
They are located in the kitchen under the sink in the condos and on the stairwell landings of each floor of the hotels.
Grills & Cooking Devices
These items are strictly forbidden in hotel rooms and on hotel room decks.
Hot Plates & Cooking • Please do not leave stove unattended while cooking and unplug hot plates after use.
Gas Grills • Follow instructions on the gas grill to light. When lighting a gas grill, always keep the lid open to prevent a flash off from gas build-up. Do not light gas grill with a match or lighter. Turn off propane valve when not in use. Call maintenance for assistance lighting the gas grill extension 55045 or 540.289.4943.
